The Globe Theatre
The globe theatre was a theatre in London . It was associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599 by Shakespeare’s playing company. His company was called, Lord Chamberlain's Men. The theater was destroyed on 29th June 1613. Approximately 750 feet away from the original building, a new version of the globe theatre was built. It was opened in 1997.
Who was William Shakespeare?
William Shakespeare was an English poet and writer. He was regarded as the greatest English language writer of al time. His work consists of about 38 plays. His birth date was unknown. He died on the 26th April, 1616, aged 54. Between 1585 and 1592, he began a successful career in London as an actor, writer, and part owner of a playing company called the Lord Chamberlain's Men, later known as the King's Men. He was brought up in Stratford-Upon-Avon.He married Anne Hathaway and had three children called Susanna Hall, Hamnet Shakespeare and Judith Quinney. His father was called John Shakespeare and his mother was called Mary Shakespeare.
